BG Day 2

Another tough day here in Lexington. Lots of trouble at the top, and after seeing so many good dogs unable to bring sheep down the field, I feel very fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to join in the fun even with our abbreviated run! Around lunch time a terrible storm came up out of nowhere. The air sirens went off and everyone ran to their campers/cars/whatevers to hunker down. After the storm was over the heat and humidity came back with a vengence. At this point the sheep were wet AND hot, and just didn't plain feel like moving. I think there was something like 8 runs in a row where the dog didn't get sheep down the field.

There were some nice runs today despite the challenges. Looking at the scores doesn't always reflect the quality of work...there have been some very nice dogs who handled difficult situations very well. Lyle and Shep's run from yesterday held on to win Round 1, with several others close behind with scores in the 80s. We got behind schedule again today due to the storm, so the handlers meeting was bumped from tonight to tomorrow morning. Reversed course is expected.

Livy got to see her sister Floss today. Floss is nearly twice the size of her, she really looks like a dog who's a good month older than she is! And she's got tons of coat! Floss hated her and tried to eat her. Oh well.
